OBITUARY for WILLIAM A. WARD
1858-1900
(from Boonville Herald 8/2/1900)
brother of Charles, Edward and Clarence Ward

After years of pain and suffering William Ward passed away Friday at his home on West Street.  His death was caused by diseased liver and kidneys and he has been unable to perform any work for some time.  He was a man of good character and a good citizen.  For years he worked at the mason's trade and was skillful and industrious.  His age was 45 [actually 42] and most of his life was spent in Boonville.  Besides his mother he is survived by three brothers, Charles and Clarence Ward, who reside here and Edward Ward of Washington.  The funeral was held Monday, Rev. A. W. Cady officiating.  The bearers were Charles and Clarence Ward; Ernest, Elwin and Frank Palmer and George L. Birdsey.

William Ward was a stone mason by trade.
The above news article was supplied by Janet Palmer Fentress,
a descendant of Benjamin Palmer, brother of Mary Palmer Avery, mother of Jane Avery Ward.
